Turkey Lettuce Wraps
About this recipe
Light, fresh, and packed with flavor, these turkey lettuce wraps are a go-to healthy dinner the whole family will love. Seasoned ground turkey is cooked with garlic, ginger, and a savory-sweet Asian-inspired sauce, then spooned into crisp butter lettuce cups and topped with crunchy water chestnuts and green onions. Ready in under 30 minutes and naturally low-carb.
Instructions
- 1
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the low-sodium soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, Sriracha (if using), and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
- 2
Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet ^[over medium-high heat]. Add the white parts of the green onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- 3
Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook for 6–8 minutes, until no pink remains and the meat is lightly browned.
- 4
Stir in the chopped water chestnuts and pour the sauce over the turkey. Toss everything together and cook for 1–2 more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat evenly. Remove from heat.
- 5
Spoon the turkey filling into individual butter lettuce cups. Top with the green parts of the sliced green onions, shredded carrots, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
