1. Introduction

Welcome to Homii AI, Inc. ("Homii," "we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered family meal planning service.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

  • Account information (name, email address)
  • Mobile phone number, if you choose to receive text messages or verify your number
  • Family member names and dietary preferences
  • Allergies and food restrictions
  • Location data (for grocery store recommendations)
  • Recipe preferences and meal history

Usage Information

  • Device and browser information
  • IP address and general location
  • App usage patterns and preferences
  • Interactions with our AI features

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide personalized meal planning and recipe recommendations
  • Generate shopping lists tailored to your household
  • Improve our AI algorithms and service quality
  • Send important service updates and communications
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Provide customer support

Google user data obtained through Google Calendar is excluded from any AI training or "improve our AI algorithms" uses. See Google Calendar and Google user data under Third-Party Services for Google's Limited Use requirements.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our platform (payment processors, hosting providers)
  • Other household members you explicitly invite to your Homii household
  • Law enforcement when required by law

Text messaging: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. We share your mobile number only with the provider that delivers the messages you asked to receive, and only so that it can deliver them.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication through Clerk, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Third-Party Services

Our service integrates with:

  • Clerk - Authentication and user management
  • Stripe - Payment processing
  • OpenAI/Anthropic - AI-powered features
  • Google Calendar - Optional calendar sync
  • Vercel - Hosting and analytics
  • SMS delivery provider - Sending the text messages you opted in to receive

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data. Google Calendar data is not used to train, improve, or develop AI or machine learning models; see Google Calendar and Google user data below for Limited Use details.

Google Calendar and Google user data

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Homii requests access only so we can sync meal-planning events with calendars you select. We do not require Calendar access to use Homii.

Access. With your consent, we may access Google Calendar data needed for sync — including your calendar list, calendar metadata, and calendar events — so you can see Homii meal plans alongside your schedule and so Homii can create, update, or delete events you ask us to manage. Exact Google OAuth scopes are shown in the Google consent screen when you connect.

Use. We use Google Calendar data only to provide and operate Calendar sync and related user-facing Homii features (for example, displaying upcoming meal events and writing or updating events you request). We do not use Google user data for advertising.

Sharing and transfer. When you connect Calendar, relevant data is transferred between Homii and Google as needed to provide sync. We do not sell Google user data. We may share it with service providers who help us operate Homii (for example hosting), only as needed to provide the feature, under obligations consistent with this policy. We may also share data if required by law.

Retention and deletion. We retain Google Calendar connection credentials (such as OAuth tokens) and any cached Calendar data only as long as needed to provide sync or as required by law. You can disconnect Google Calendar in Homii settings at any time; you can also revoke Homii's access in your Google Account permissions. After disconnect or revoke, we stop new Calendar access and delete or de-identify stored Google Calendar tokens and cached Calendar data associated with that connection within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Deleting your Homii account also removes Calendar connection data under our standard deletion process (including any cool-off period described in Your Rights).

Google Limited Use. Homii's use of Google user data from Google Calendar complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use that data only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in Homii's user interface. We do not use Google user data to train, improve, or develop generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Affirmative statement: Homii's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing.

  • Access & export: Request a copy of your Homii data from Account settings → Privacy & data. Exports include your profile, preferences, subscription summary, conversations you own, OAuth connection metadata, and child profiles you manage (clearly labeled). Other adults' household data is not included. We aim to complete exports within 24 hours (legal maximum 30 days). Download links expire after 7 days.
  • Deletion: Deactivate or delete your account from Account settings. Deletion requires email confirmation and a 7-day cool-off. Household data you no longer own stays with that household.
  • Marketing & recap emails: Toggle separately in Privacy & data, or use one-click unsubscribe links in those emails.
  • Cookies & analytics: Analytics (GTM/GA/Mixpanel) load only after you accept. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) as an opt-out of sale/share and analytics. Manage choices via the cookie banner or Your Privacy Choices.
  • Text messages (SMS): Reply STOP to any Homii text to stop receiving them, turn them off in your Homii settings, or email privacy@gethomii.ai. See Text Messages in our Terms of Service for the full messaging terms.
  • CCPA Do Not Sell/Share: Homii does not sell or share personal information for advertising. There is no opt-out toggle because we simply do not sell your data.

For manual requests, email privacy@gethomii.ai. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Homii is a family product. Parents and guardians contract for the household. Children under 13 may have a kid account only after we obtain verifiable parental consent (VPC) via email confirmation to the parent's verified email address.

  • Consent scopes may include kid account creation, email login, location sharing, and including the child in AI context. Location and AI context default off until the parent opts in.
  • Parents can review, grant, or revoke consent from Household → People → Parental permissions. Revocation suspends the child's login and high-risk features while keeping a parent-managed profile when appropriate.
  • Parents may request access to or deletion of their child's data through Privacy & data or privacy@gethomii.ai.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
