Chicken Thighs
About this recipe
Juicy, golden-skinned chicken thighs made effortlessly in the air fryer. A simple spice rub delivers crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat in under 30 minutes — perfect for a quick weeknight dinner the whole family will love.
Instructions
- 1
Pat the chicken thighs very dry on all sides with paper towel — this is the key to crispy skin. In a small mixing bowl, mix together the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- 2
Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs and rub it in evenly. Sprinkle the spice mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin where possible, pressing gently so it adheres.
- 3
Preheat your air fryer to ![400°F] for 3 minutes. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don't overlap. Air fry for 12 minutes.
- 4
Flip the chicken thighs skin-side up using tongs. Continue air frying for another 8–10 minutes, until the skin is deep golden and crispy and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads %[165°F].
- 5
Transfer the chicken thighs to a plate and let it rest for 3–5 minutes before serving. Serve immediately.
