Waldorf Salad
About this recipe
A timeless classic that never goes out of style — crisp apples, crunchy celery, toasted walnuts, and sweet grapes all tossed in a creamy, lightly tangy dressing. This Waldorf salad is fresh, satisfying, and comes together in minutes with no cooking required. Perfect as a side dish or a light lunch on its own.
Instructions
- 1
Place the walnut halves in a dry skillet over ^[medium heat]. Toast, stirring frequently, for 3–5 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then roughly chop.
- 2
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, honey, sea salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning — add a little more lemon juice for brightness or honey for sweetness.
- 3
Core and dice the apple into ½-inch pieces (no need to peel). Thinly slice the celery and halve the grape. Add the apple, celery, grape, and toasted walnut to a large mixing bowl.
- 4
Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and gently fold everything together until evenly coated. If serving on romaine lettuce, arrange chopped romaine lettuce on a platter or individual plates and spoon the Waldorf salad on top. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 30 minutes before serving for the flavors to meld.
