Lazy Girl Pasta
About this recipe
The viral, no-fuss pasta that took social media by storm — buttery, garlicky, and loaded with parmesan in under 30 minutes. This one-pan wonder requires minimal effort but delivers maximum comfort. Perfect for weeknights when you want something indulgent without the work.
Instructions
- 1
Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Before draining, scoop out at least 1 cup of the starchy pasta cooking water and set aside. Drain the spaghetti.
- 2
While the spaghetti cooks, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over ^[medium heat]. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and just golden — don't let it burn.
- 3
Add the drained spaghetti directly to the skillet. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and pour in ½ cup of the reserved pasta cooking water. Toss everything together over ^[medium heat] for 1–2 minutes until the butter melts and a light, silky sauce forms. Add more pasta cooking water a splash at a time if needed to loosen.
- 4
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, tossing quickly so it melts into a creamy coating rather than clumping. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- 5
Divide into bowls and top with extra Parmesan cheese, a crack of black pepper, and fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately while hot and saucy.
