Chocolate Avocado Mousse
About this recipe
Silky, rich, and indulgent — this chocolate avocado mousse is a naturally gluten-free dessert that tastes like pure decadence. Ripe avocados blend into an impossibly creamy base, while cocoa powder and melted dark chocolate deliver deep, bittersweet flavor. Ready in under 15 minutes with no cooking required, it's the kind of effortless dessert that impresses every time.
Instructions
- 1
Place the chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe mixing bowl. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Set aside to cool for 2–3 minutes.
- 2
Scoop the avocado flesh into a food processor. Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, coconut milk, vanilla extract, lime juice, and salt. Process for about 30 seconds until the mixture starts to come together.
- 3
Pour in the cooled melted dark chocolate and process again for 1–2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mousse is completely smooth, glossy, and no green streaks remain. Taste and adjust sweetness or salt as desired.
- 4
Spoon or pipe the mousse into 4 serving glasses or ramekins. For best texture, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Top with dark chocolate shavings, a pinch of flaky salt, and fresh raspberries if desired.
