Instructions
- Bring ~[4 cups] of @[Water] to a boil in a #[Saucepan]. Remove from heat, add the ~[4] @[Black Tea Bags], and steep for ~[5 minutes]. Remove the @[Black Tea Bags] without squeezing them (squeezing causes bitterness). Stir in ~[1/4 cup] @[Sugar] until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
- Make a simple syrup: combine ~[1/2 cup] @[Sugar] and ~[1/2 cup] @[Water] in a #[Saucepan] over ^[medium heat]. Stir until the @[Sugar] is completely dissolved, about ~[2–3 minutes]. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Juice the @[Lemons] to yield ~[1 cup] of fresh @[Lemon Juice]. Strain out any seeds. In a #[Pitcher (Large)], combine the @[Lemon Juice], cooled simple syrup, and ~[2 cups] of @[Cold Water]. Stir well and taste — adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
- Fill ~[four] tall glasses with @[Ice]. Pour equal parts chilled sweet tea and lemonade over the @[Ice] (about ~[3/4 cup] each per glass). Stir gently to combine. Garnish with a @[Lemon] slice and a sprig of fresh @[Mint] if desired. Serve immediately.
