Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add the 4 4 pieces black tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the 4 pieces black tea bags without squeezing them (squeezing causes bitterness). Stir in 1/4 cup ¼ cup granulated sugar adjust until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.

Make a simple syrup: combine 1/2 cup ¼ cup granulated sugar adjust and 1/2 cup 4 cups water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the ¼ cup granulated sugar adjust is completely dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

Juice the 1 cup fresh lemon juice to yield 1 cup of fresh fresh lemon juice. Strain out any seeds. In a pitcher (Large), combine the 1 cup fresh lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and 2 cups of water. Stir well and taste — adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.

Fill four tall glasses with 4 cups ice. Pour equal parts chilled sweet tea and lemonade over the 4 cups ice (about 3/4 cup each per glass). Stir gently to combine. Garnish with a 1 cup fresh lemon juice slice and a sprig of fresh fresh mint sprigs for garnish if desired. Serve immediately.
