Make sure your 8 oz cream cheese is fully softened — this is the most important step for a smooth, spreadable filling. Leave it out at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or microwave in 10-second bursts until soft but not melted.

Uses

  • Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 3 tbsp sour cream, 1 oz ranch seasoning mix, minced garlic, and chopped fresh chives finely chopped until completely smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. The mixture should be thick but easily spreadable.

Lay one large large flour tortillas flat on a clean work surface. Spread roughly one-quarter of the herbed 8 oz cream cheese mixture evenly across the entire surface of the tortilla, going all the way to the edges — this acts as the 'glue' that holds the roll together.

Uses

  • Flour Tortilla
  • Cream Cheese

Layer the fillings evenly across the tortilla in this order: a single layer of deli turkey slices, then 4 oz deli ham (and 4 oz deli salami if using), leaving about a half-inch border at the far edge. Scatter shredded 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the meats.

Top with a layer of baby spinach leaves, then sprinkle over the diced red bell pepper, sliced green onions, and ¼ cup black olives (if using). Don't overfill — a thin, even layer of each ingredient rolls much more cleanly than a thick pile.

  • Baby Spinach
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Green Onion
  • Black Olives

Starting from the edge closest to you, roll the tortilla away from you as tightly as possible, keeping even pressure along the full length of the roll. A tight roll is key to clean pinwheel slices that hold their shape.

Wrap the completed roll snugly in plastic wrap, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper to keep it compact. Repeat with the remaining 3 tortillas. Refrigerate all rolls for at least 1 hour (and up to 24 hours). Chilling is essential — it firms up the 8 oz cream cheese so the rolls slice cleanly.

Uses

  • Plastic Wrap
  • Flour Tortilla
  • Cream Cheese

When ready to serve, unwrap each roll and place it on a cutting board. Using a sharp serrated knife, trim off the uneven ends (snack on those!), then slice each roll into 1-inch rounds. You should get about 8–10 pinwheels per roll. Arrange cut-side up on a platter and serve immediately.
