How it works
Step 1
Open Kiosk Mode
From your profile menu, enter a full-screen household board designed for a countertop tablet.
Step 2
Pick your tiles
Clock, weather, meals, schedule, shopping, timers, countdowns, fridge notes, leftovers, who’s home, family map, Chef Mii, and more — drag, expand, and save the layout.
Step 3
Leave it on
Keep the screen awake, let night ambience take over after dark, and say “Hey Homii” when you need help.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a special Homii wall display?
No. Kiosk Mode runs in the browser on the iPad or tablet you already own — Homii is software, not a dedicated wall panel.
Will the screen stay on?
Yes. While Kiosk Mode is open, Homii requests a screen wake lock when the browser supports it. You can allow sleep from the kiosk chrome anytime.
What is night ambience?
Kitchen tablets often stay on light mode. Homii dims the board on a quiet-hours schedule (about 9pm–6:30am in household time). Override with Auto, Day, or Night.
Can I change which tiles show?
Yes. Customize to enable or hide widgets, drag to reorder, and expand or collapse tiles. Layout is saved per household on that device.
How do I talk to Chef Mii from the board?
Add the Chef Mii tile and say “Hey Homii,” or tap Start voice / Open chat. Voice features follow your household’s Family Plus AI access.
Is Kiosk Mode part of a paid plan?
Kiosk Mode is available to all signed-in households. Some tiles (Family Map, Chef Mii voice) still respect their existing feature gates.
