Content catches up in the background
Public recipes and cooking knowledge translate asynchronously. Ready overlays appear when available; otherwise English stays in place.
Frequently asked questions
Which languages does Homii support?
English, Spanish (Español), and Simplified Chinese (简体中文). You pick a language in Display settings. Money stays USD; the locale only changes how amounts, dates, and numbers are formatted.
Do dashboard URLs change when I switch language?
No. The signed-in app stays on the same paths (for example /dashboard and /shopping). Your preference is stored on your account and in a cookie. Public marketing and recipe pages can use /es/... or /zh-Hans/... for SEO.
Are recipes translated?
Yes for Explore and public recipes when a translation overlay is ready. English remains the canonical source. If a locale is still processing, Homii falls back to English so you are never blocked.
Does Chef Mii speak my language?
Chef Mii matches the language of your latest message — including when you switch mid-conversation. It does not force your Display setting onto every reply.
Is internationalization a paid feature?
Language preference is available to all signed-in households. Recipe and cooking-knowledge translation use Homii’s existing AI pipeline; Family Plus AI unlocks the broader AI suite around those flows.
