Instrucciones
- 1
Pour the Apple Cider into a large Saucepan and set over ^[medium heat].
- 2
Add the Cinnamon Sticks, whole cloves, Allspice Berries, Star Anise (if using), Nutmeg, Brown Sugar, and a pinch of Salt. Stir gently to begin dissolving the sugar.
- 3
Add the Orange rounds and Lemon rounds (if using), pressing them lightly into the cider.
- 4
Bring the cider up to a gentle simmer over ^[medium heat] — do not boil. Reduce heat to ^[low] once you see small bubbles forming around the edges.
- 5
Simmer on ^[low heat] for 15 minutes, allowing the spices and citrus to fully infuse the cider. The liquid will deepen in color and your kitchen will smell amazing.
- 6
Taste and adjust: add more Brown Sugar for sweetness, or let it simmer uncovered for a few extra minutes if you'd like a more concentrated spice flavor.
- 7
Strain the cider through a fine mesh Sieve into mugs, discarding the whole spices and citrus rounds.
- 8
Serve hot, garnished with a fresh Cinnamon Stick and/or a fresh Orange slice on the rim if desired.
