步骤说明
- 1
Place the Basmati Rice in a large Mixing Bowl and cover with Cold Water. Gently swirl and rub the grains with your fingers, then carefully pour off the cloudy water. Repeat 3–4 times until the water runs mostly clear. This removes excess surface starch, which is the #1 key to fluffy, separated grains.
- 2
After the final rinse, cover the Basmati Rice with fresh Cold Water and let it soak for 15–30 minutes. Soaking hydrates the grains evenly so they cook through without the outside becoming mushy. Drain completely through a Sieve before cooking.
- 3
Add the drained Basmati Rice, 3 cups of Cold Water, and Salt to a medium Saucepan. If using Butter, add it now. Stir once gently to combine. Do not stir again after this point.
- 4
Bring the Pot to a full boil over ^[medium-high heat], uncovered. Watch it closely — this should take about 4–5 minutes.
- 5
Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to ^[the lowest setting possible] and place a tight-fitting lid on the Pot. If your lid has a steam vent, cover it with a folded Kitchen Towel before placing it on the pot to trap all the steam inside. Cook for exactly 12 minutes. Do not lift the lid.
- 6
After 12 minutes, turn off the heat completely. Leave the Pot on the burner, lid still on, and let the Basmati Rice steam undisturbed for 10 minutes. This resting step is essential — it finishes cooking the grains gently and allows moisture to redistribute evenly.
- 7
Remove the lid and fluff the Basmati Rice gently with a Dipping Fork, lifting from the bottom and working outward. Avoid stirring or pressing — you want to keep the grains long and separate. Taste and adjust Salt if needed, then serve immediately.
