Holiday Charcuterie Board
About this recipe
A stunning, crowd-pleasing holiday charcuterie board loaded with cured meats, artisan cheeses, seasonal accompaniments, and festive garnishes. No cooking required — just thoughtful arrangement and a great selection of flavors and textures. Perfect for holiday parties, New Year's Eve, or any festive gathering, this board is as beautiful as it is delicious.
Instructions
- 1
About 30–45 minutes before assembling, remove all Aged Cheddar and other cheeses from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature. This dramatically improves their flavor and texture.
- 2
Gather your Cutting Board, small Mixing Bowls, and serving utensils. Place 3–4 small Mixing Bowls on the board in different areas — these will hold the Fig Jam, mustard, honey, Kalamata Olives, and cornichons. Spacing them out creates natural anchor points for the rest of the board.
- 3
Fill the small Mixing Bowls: Fig Jam in one, whole grain mustard in another, honey in a third, and Kalamata Olives and cornichons in the remaining bowls. Add a small spoon to each.
- 4
Place the cheeses on the board next, spread apart from each other. Slice the Aged Cheddar into thin slices and break a few pieces into rustic chunks for visual interest. Place the brie as a whole wedge or halved. Fan the Manchego into thin wedges. Crumble the gorgonzola into a small pile or Mixing Bowl.
- 5
Arrange the cured meats between the cheeses. Fold prosciutto into loose ribbons or roses. Fan salami slices in a half-moon. Fold Soppressata in quarters. Vary the shapes and heights to add visual dimension.
- 6
Tuck Water Crackers and Baguette slices into the open spaces around the board. Fan them out in clusters of 6–8 so they're easy to grab. Use two varieties of crackers in different areas of the board.
- 7
Add the fresh fruit: place clusters of Red Grapes and Green Grapes in open areas, and scatter clementine segments in a small pile. These add color and freshness and help break up the richer elements.
- 8
Fill in remaining gaps with Cranberries, roasted Salted Almonds, and candied walnuts/pecans. Scatter them loosely so they flow naturally around the other items.
- 9
Add the festive finishing touches: tuck fresh Rosemary sprigs around the board to mimic the look of evergreen branches. Scatter fresh Cranberries for pops of red. Add pomegranate seeds or a halved pomegranate for drama and color.
- 10
Do a final visual scan: look for any large empty patches and fill with a small handful of nuts or dried fruit. Make sure every section of the board has a mix of meat, cheese, cracker, and fruit nearby so guests can build a balanced bite from anywhere.
- 11
Serve immediately or loosely cover with Plastic Wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours before the party. Remove from the fridge 20 minutes before serving to re-temper the cheeses.
