Instructions

Measure all your spices — 1 tsp ground turmeric, ½ tsp ground cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground ginger, 1 pinch black pepper freshly ground, and 1 pinch ground cardamom (if using) — into a small saucepan. This keeps the process smooth and ensures even distribution.

Uses

  • Saucepan
  • Turmeric
  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Black Pepper
  • Ground Cardamom

Pour the 2 cups milk whole dairy or unsweetened oat/almond/coconut milk into the saucepan with the spices. Add the 1 tsp coconut oil or 1 tsp butter if using. Whisk everything together until the spices are evenly dispersed — there will be no clumping if you whisk before heating.

  • Coconut Oil

  • Medium-low

Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until it is steaming hot and just beginning to simmer around the edges. Do not let it boil — boiling can scorch the 2 cups milk whole dairy or unsweetened oat/almond/coconut milk and dull the spice flavor. This takes about 5 to 7 minutes.

Uses

  • Milk
  • Coconut Oil

Remove from heat. Stir in the 1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup) and ½ tsp vanilla extract if using. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice level to your preference.

Uses

  • Honey
  • Vanilla Extract

Optional but recommended: pour the latte through a fine mesh colander into your mug to remove any undissolved spice particles, resulting in a silky smooth drink.

Uses

  • Colander
  • Mug

For a frothy finish, use a milk frother or immersion blender to briefly blend the latte directly in the saucepan or a tall mug before pouring. This creates a beautiful, café-style foam. Serve immediately in warm mug and dust with a tiny pinch of ground cinnamon on top.
