Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced cloves garlic finely minced or pressed, fresh fresh parsley finely chopped, ¼ tsp salt, ⅛ tsp black pepper freshly ground, and ¼ tsp garlic powder. Mix thoroughly with a fork until everything is evenly incorporated. If using, stir in the 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese finely grated. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Slice the 1 whole Italian or French bread loaf about 12 inches long in half lengthwise so you have two long flat halves. Place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.

Spread the garlic 6 tbsp unsalted butter evenly across the cut surface of both bread halves, all the way to the edges so every bite is flavorful.

Bake at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, until the 6 tbsp unsalted butter is fully melted and the bread is heated through and just starting to turn golden at the edges.

Switch the oven to broil on HIGH. Broiler the bread for 1–3 minutes, watching closely, until the top is golden brown and crispy. Do not walk away — it can go from golden to burnt very quickly!
