What connected assistants can do

Concrete household jobs — not a generic chatbot bolted onto recipes.

What’s for dinner

Read this week’s meal plan and today’s schedule from your real Homii household.

Calendar & schedule

Check what’s on today, add an event, and catch clashes before you commit to one.

To-dos & tasks

See what’s due today, capture a task the moment it comes up, and tick it off.

Shopping lists

Check what’s on the list — or add milk and eggs when you remember them mid-chat.

Chores & rewards

See whose chores are due today and where allowance and reward balances stand.

Cookbook & pantry

Search recipes you already saved and see what’s in the pantry before you plan.

Events & potlucks

Look up what’s coming, RSVP, and claim the dish you said you’d bring.

Gifts & birthdays

Look up wish lists and birthdays so gift ideas stay grounded in what people want.

Who’s home

Ask about family location context when Family Location is on for the household.

How to connect

Pick a client and connect

Each card has the MCP server URL and steps for that app. Finish OAuth in the browser — full details live in the setup guide and in Settings → Connected assistants.

Grok

Grok

Add Homii as a custom connector from Grok’s Connectors page.

https://gethomii.ai/api/mcp
  1. Open Connectors

In Grok, open Connectors and choose New connector → Custom.

  2. Paste the Homii URL

Enter the Homii MCP server URL as the custom connector address.

  3. Approve the household

Finish Homii OAuth in the browser, pick a household, and confirm scopes.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT

Connect Homii from ChatGPT’s developer / connectors settings.

https://gethomii.ai/api/mcp
  1. Open connectors

In ChatGPT, open developer or connectors settings for custom MCP servers.

  2. Point at Homii

Add a custom MCP connector and paste the Homii MCP server URL.

  3. Approve the household

Complete Homii OAuth, choose which household to connect, and confirm scopes.

Claude

Claude Desktop

Add Homii under Connectors, then finish OAuth in your browser.

https://gethomii.ai/api/mcp
  1. Open Connectors

In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.

  2. Paste the Homii URL

Use the Homii MCP server URL as the remote connector address.

  3. Approve access

Sign in to Homii, choose a household, and approve read and/or write scopes.

Cursor

Cursor

Add Homii as a global remote MCP server from Cursor Settings.

https://gethomii.ai/api/mcp
  1. Open MCP settings

In Cursor, go to Settings → MCP → Add new global MCP server.

  2. Add the Homii URL

Create a remote connector and paste the Homii MCP server URL.

  3. Finish Homii OAuth

When the browser opens, sign in, pick a household, and approve scopes.

Safety & consent

You approve every connection

Homii opens an OAuth consent screen so you pick the household and scopes. Actions that need Homii confirmation stay blocked over MCP. Revoke any app from Settings anytime.

  • Ask Grok or ChatGPT what’s for dinner from your real Homii plan
  • Check the calendar, capture a to-do, and add groceries without opening Homii
  • Search your cookbook and pantry from Claude or Cursor

OAuth consent

What you approve

  • Read access

    homii:read

View meal plans, shopping lists, recipes, and pantry

  • Write access

    homii:write

Add items, plan meals, and save preferences

  • Household choice

Pick which household the assistant can use — revoke anytime in Settings.

Try these prompts

Once connected, ask in plain language — Homii tools answer from your household data.

  • What’s for dinner this week in Homii?
  • What’s on our calendar tomorrow?
  • Add “book the dentist” to my to-dos.
  • Add oats and blueberries to our shopping list.
  • Whose chores are due today?
  • Do we have pasta in the pantry?
  • What am I bringing to the potluck on Saturday?
  • Find a weeknight chicken recipe in our cookbook.

Your household data, where you already chat

Homii MCP turns Homii into a remote MCP server. Assistants you already use can answer “what’s for dinner?” from your plan — not a generic recipe guess.

  • Works with Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor connectors, and other MCP clients
  • Same household preferences and plans Homii already knows
  • Copy the remote MCP URL from Settings → Connected assistants (or the setup guide)

Safe by design

Connections use Homii OAuth. You choose the household and scopes, and you can revoke access without changing your password.

  • homii:read for plans, lists, recipes, and pantry
  • homii:write for adding items and planning meals
  • Destructive Homii actions stay blocked over MCP

Included with Family Plus AI

Homii MCP ships with the same top AI tier as Homii and voice assistants — so connected helpers stay part of one household plan.

  • Also included for Lifetime Supporter
  • Manage connections in Settings → Connected assistants
  • Full setup steps live in the Homii MCP docs

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Open Connected assistants

In Homii, open Settings → Connected assistants and choose Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor. The MCP server URL is inside that setup modal.

  2. Step 2

    Sign in and approve

OAuth opens Homii in the browser. Pick a household, approve read and/or write scopes, and finish.

  3. Step 3

    Ask in plain language

Try “What’s for dinner this week?”, “What’s on our calendar tomorrow?” or “Add oats to our shopping list” from Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor.

Frequently asked questions

What is Homii MCP?

Homii MCP is Homii’s remote Model Context Protocol server. It lets MCP-compatible assistants connect to your household so they can read (and optionally write) meal plans, shopping lists, recipes, and more — with your OAuth consent.

Which plans include Homii MCP?

Family Plus AI and Lifetime Supporter. Free and Family Plus can read the marketing pages and docs, but connecting assistants requires Family Plus AI.

Do I need an API key?

No. Homii uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Your assistant opens a Homii consent screen; you never paste a long-lived personal API key.

How is this different from Homii?

Homii is Homii’s built-in household AI chat. Homii MCP lets external assistants (Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) use Homii tools and resources when you’re chatting elsewhere.

Can I disconnect an assistant?

Yes. Open Settings → Connected assistants to see linked apps and revoke any connection instantly.
