Instructions

  1. 1

  2. 2

    How to Microwave Peas

Place peas in a microwave-safe dish in a single layer. Add 1 tbsp water, then cover loosely with a lid, plate, or damp paper towels — traps steam without building pressure. Microwave on high:

    • Frozen green peas: 2–3 min, stir, then 30-sec to 1-min intervals until done (3–5 min total)
    • Fresh shelled sweet peas: 4–6 min total, stirring partway
    • Sugar snap peas: 6–7 min total; check for crisp-tender

Stir at least once during cooking. Start at the low end of the time range and add time in short bursts. Done when heated through, bright in color, and tender to the bite. Taste carefully — they'll be very hot.

  3. 3

    Escurre, Sazona y Sirve
