  • 350°F

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan with ⅓ taza de mantequilla sin sal or cooking spray, then lightly dust with 1 ½ taza de harina para todo uso (or line with parchment paper for easy removal).

Uses

  • Oven
  • Loaf Pan
  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper

In a large mixing bowl, mash the peeled 3 plátanos muy maduros pelados y aplastados thoroughly with a fork until smooth. A few small lumps are fine — they add texture. The riper and more speckled the 3 plátanos muy maduros pelados y aplastados, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.

Uses

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fine Salt

Pour the melted taza de mantequilla sin sal into the mashed 3 plátanos muy maduros pelados y aplastados and stir to combine. Add the ¾ taza de azúcar granulado, beaten huevo batido, and 1 cucharadita de extracto de vainilla pura. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.

Sprinkle the 1 cucharadita de bicarbonato de sodio and ¼ cucharadita de sal fina over the mixture and stir in. If using ½ cucharadita de canela, add it now. These should be evenly distributed before the 1 ½ taza de harina para todo uso goes in.

Add the 1 ½ taza de harina para todo uso all at once. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, fold the 1 ½ taza de harina para todo uso in gently — stir just until no dry streaks remain. Do not overmix; a few lumps in the batter are perfectly fine. Overmixing develops gluten and can make the bread tough.

Uses

  • Spatula
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Fine Salt

If using ½ cup nueces o chispas de chocolate or ½ cup chocolate chips, fold them in now with just a few strokes.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Optional: sprinkle a few plátanos muy maduros pelados y aplastados slices or a pinch of taza de azúcar granulado on top for a beautiful finish.

Uses

  • Loaf Pan
  • Spatula
  • 55–65 min

Bake on the center rack for 55–65 minutes, until the top is deep golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). If the top is browning too quickly, tent loosely with aluminum foil after 40 minutes.

Uses

  • Aluminum Foil
  • 10–30 min

Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the loaf pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Then turn it out onto the rack and let it cool for at least 20 more minutes before slicing. Cutting too early can cause the bread to crumble.

  • Oven
  • Loaf Pan
