Homii MCP setup guide

Connect Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients to your Homii household with OAuth — no API keys.

Requirements

Family Plus AI or Lifetime Supporter — view plans
An MCP-compatible client (Grok or ChatGPT connectors, Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.)

Authentication

Homii uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. When your client connects, you sign in to Homii, choose a household, and approve scopes:

Connect a client

Each client card includes the MCP server URL to paste. Signed in? Prefer Settings → Connected assistants — open a client setup modal to copy the URL and manage connections.

Grok

Add Homii as a custom connector from Grok’s Connectors page.

Open Connectors
In Grok, open Connectors and choose New connector → Custom.
Paste the Homii URL
Enter the Homii MCP server URL as the custom connector address.
Approve the household
Finish Homii OAuth in the browser, pick a household, and confirm scopes.

ChatGPT

Connect Homii from ChatGPT’s developer / connectors settings.

Open connectors
In ChatGPT, open developer or connectors settings for custom MCP servers.
Point at Homii
Add a custom MCP connector and paste the Homii MCP server URL.
Approve the household
Complete Homii OAuth, choose which household to connect, and confirm scopes.

Claude Desktop

Add Homii under Connectors, then finish OAuth in your browser.

Open Connectors
In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Paste the Homii URL
Use the Homii MCP server URL as the remote connector address.
Approve access
Sign in to Homii, choose a household, and approve read and/or write scopes.

Cursor

Add Homii as a global remote MCP server from Cursor Settings.

Open MCP settings
In Cursor, go to Settings → MCP → Add new global MCP server.
Add the Homii URL
Create a remote connector and paste the Homii MCP server URL.
Finish Homii OAuth
When the browser opens, sign in, pick a household, and approve scopes.

Check what’s on today, add an event, and catch clashes before you commit to one.
To-dos & tasks
See what’s due today, capture a task the moment it comes up, and tick it off.
Shopping lists
Check what’s on the list — or add milk and eggs when you remember them mid-chat.
Chores & rewards
See whose chores are due today and where allowance and reward balances stand.
Cookbook & pantry
Search recipes you already saved and see what’s in the pantry before you plan.
Events & potlucks
Look up what’s coming, RSVP, and claim the dish you said you’d bring.
Gifts & birthdays
Look up wish lists and birthdays so gift ideas stay grounded in what people want.
Who’s home
Ask about family location context when Family Location is on for the household.
